Assembly was fairly simple, but I would suggest a helper on a few steps due to the size/length of some of the pieces. All the hardware was included, and the pieces together create a very sturdy bed! Only issue to get used to is even with the sturdiness, it is still a bit wobbly when my son is getting into bed, and hes not a huge kid (75 lbs). Was very glad to get the desk attachment with it, as that adds some strength with several additional crossbars. Definitely a nice piece of furniture. very sturdy and stylish
