    I dont recommend this.

I wish I hadnt read reviews by people who said theyd assembled this bed by themselves in no time, as they made me feel inept. Ive put several daybeds together before, but never struggled as hard as I did with this one. Kudos to the gentleman whose wife used painters tape to hold the 25 miserable slats in place. If I hadnt read that review, days later Id still be on step one. The painters tape wont remove the easily-scratched stain and was, for me, essential. I was unable to screw in one of the screws on a back leg all the way, and during my first attempt, it somehow knocked off a chunk of wood on the back. (I figure it was going in at an angle and pushed against the back surface, though it didnt penetrate.) Still, when the piece fell off, I could clearly see that the material under the missing chunk was certainly not a solid piece of wood but was composite. It was a nightmare to assemble. I also now feel exrremely fat, and at 180 pounds, Im worried about whether its going to support my massive bulk. I may have to lose 40 pounds before I lie down on it. The sides and back move if I push on them just a little. Except for some places where the tissue-thin veneer has been damaged, and the sticky residue from the labels (that doesnt come off with mere soap and water) remains, it looks nice. But I care more about its durability than I do about its appearance. I would write with more detail, but I have to start working on those pounds.
