Tent stayed completely dry in multiple thunderstorms
We needed a large tent that was comfortable to spend time in other than sleeping since we were camping with our 2.5 year old and 6 month old in the mountains of NC. Since its summer in NC, we also needed a tent that would survive those fun out of nowhere downpours. The kicker was our budget, we did not have hundreds to spend. This tent was awesome. My 6 foot tall husband could stand at the center without ducking. We could easily sit with our kids inside if they needed some quiet time, and had enough room to get them both ready. The front porch was nice, we easily fit two chairs in there and used it as a place to take off muddy shoes and clothes before getting in the actual tent. That part gets wet when it rains, so we just kept stuff in plastic bins out there (like our shoes) and they were dry. We had a major thunderstorms the second day/night and the tent stayed dry. My kids wanted to sleep right up against me and somehow I ended up smushed against the wall of the huge tent, but woke up completely dry! Ive had more expensive tents that still had condensation on the walls, but this one didnt even after the major storm. Of course its a big tent, so its heavy, but I imagine anyone needing a tent this size is car camping anyway.
