Others mentioned that the screened in area catches water. It certainly would, but was wise enough redesign this. On the floor along the front of the tent, there is a line of mesh that allows any water to drain out. Also as another reviewer mentioned, the front section can be rolled back when you expect rain. There are six locations for stakes, 4 around the main tent and 2 at the front corners. The poles connect at the main 4 so if I expect heavy rain, Ill simply take the front stakes up and tie back the screened part. Alternatively, I might simply place the tent on a slight grade with the door facing towards the decline to drain.
There are also complaints about the poles snagging the sleeves of the tent. That is a reasonable concern, and I would certainly recommend caution here. However, I think the quality is up to par for this price. A gentle touch should prevent any issue so I think the tent deserves 5 stars. The stakes are rather small. They seem sufficient for light conditions and staking into soil. I intend to camp on the beach, and I will probably need better stakes to get the depth needed. Thats not a complaint but more of a heads up for other campers! I would recommend this to a friend. Just take care of your tent and it will take care of you!
I have a young kid, and intend to camp with just the two of us.
I think the design has been improved!
