I have not used the 8 person tent in inclement weather. ... But i put it through a trail run twice . it is easy to put up and take down. I am a 5 2 female and it took me 25 mins .. with the fly and everything staked and snapped . The fly took the longest time. The actual tent setup was 10 mins. I sealed the seams and sprayed the entire tent with camp dry. . This camp dry stuff works really well. . I use it on my boat bags..
I read that with the screen porch.. it you put a wedge at the top . the water will flow down through the mesh at the bottom of the screen porch. It makes sense to me. A very small adjustment..
If you adjust the fly ...setting up the back to the front . you will have more coverage over the mesh panel in the back of the tent. That worked very well.. I used 2 stakes in the back and ran the guy line through both stakes to adjust for day time and night time privacy.
IMO ,This tent is only for 4 adults comfortably and friendly.. It is very spacious for 2 adults. We had a full size mattress and a twin mattress. With plenty of room to spare.. I like it...
Update.. I used the tent in inclement weather. The rain fly held like a charm. The water beaded up over the heavy rain that we received. However , the bathtub floor leaked in 3 of the 4 corners. Nothing heavy . But still left small puddles after I sealed the seams. I plan to reseal the corners again. I did lay an extra tarp inside on the floor. Nothing got wet.. If it happens again . I will exchange the tent because I really like it. See pictures. .
I Like IT!!!
