My son assembled himself in a couple hours, seems to be sturdy! The only beef I have with it is it is smaller than pictured, your queen mattress will cover the part thats supposed to stick out past the bed. I liked it because it looked like it would have the platform around the outside of the mattress- thats a nice modern look. It still looks nice but the mattress does cover the lip entirely.
