There were mixed reviews for this bed so I was very worried about purchasing it. I was looking for a bed that I could assemble up in a loft for my teenage son. I put this bed together in 30 minutes. It was extremely easy. I read reviews about others having trouble with the plastic brackets for the slats breaking but I slid the wood slats into the brackets before attaching to the bed and it was quick and easy. Most of the people using this bed said that they were using thick memory foam mattresses with it but I planned to use a futon mattress. I was worried about the comfort of it but it is excellent! Because of the futon mattress, you are able to see the ledge around the edge of the bed. Previous reviews complain that the ledge is not visible with a regular mattress so I was anticipating that but was pleasantly surprised that you can see it with the futon mattress. It works excellent in the loft for my teenager. It is very comfortable and you cant feel the wooden slats through the mattress like we were worried about. It supports him well. And you absolutely cannot beat the price!
