We bought one of these for each of our kids (6 and 9 years old) after researching lots of lofts and looking for one that didn't have a low weight limit and wasn't super high off the ground. They weren't super difficult to put together, but definitely took the better part of one day to get them both done. The wood split on one of them when we were attaching the ladder, so we had to glue/clamp to fix it and then be really careful about screwing angle on the second attempt. Overall they look nice and have tons of shelf space underneath. My tall 6 year old can walk underneath hers without ducking, and my 9 year old has her desk underneath which she really likes. For having a 400 lbs weight limit, though, they don't seem that sturdy. They have more wiggle than I would've anticipated when the kids are moving around on them (and we've rechecked that everything is tightened as much as possible). I'm an average sized person and wouldn't feel comfortable climbing up on it.
Nice for younger kids
