Flushed Shower Mixer Valve as stated in directions prior to enclosing behind new porcelain shower wall. After a week water pressure was very poor. Removed Shower Mixer Valve plate and removed cartridge. Cartridge was clogged with black gasket material. Flushed for a prolonged time, reinstalled and after a few weeks had same problem. Replaced cartridge with another cartridge (only type will fit) I purchased (exact same cartridge). Twice a day the shower drains all the water from the valve to the showerhead, which is considerable given the size of the rain shower head. Bottom line, the valve leaks slowly into water lines and over time fills up the plumbing lines and the shower head which eventually drains out into the shower enclosure. Im in the process now of having a plumber replace the Shower Mixer Valve. The system looks great and when it worked was nice, but right now its unreliable and wasteful. After spending thousands of dollars to remodel the bathroom I was hoping to have a reliable and working shower, not the case due to the Shower Mixer Valve.
