I order a lot of items from and I am seldom inclined to take the time to write a review. One because Im too busy. Two because you cant trust reviews are real anymore so theyve lost their relevance. Such a shame. That said, I have to chime in on this bed frame. So if youre like me and read all the reviews with a grain of salt please trust that this one is the real deal.
So, here goes. First, the package was extremely well put together, all the items snugly and efficiently secured into the smallest box they could manage (still a bit large and heavy - but its a solid wood queen bed frame!) All the pieces and holes are clearly labeled to make assembly easy enough for a child, but just in case, there is a large print illustrated guide you can follow if you have any questions. The entire time I was putting this bed frame together I was blown away by the quality of everything - from the solid wood pieces (nothing cheap in the box) to the nifty mini-ratchet tool provided for quickly screwing the place bolts into place, right down to the real wood plugs for covering the bolt holes (adds a very nice detail to the finished product). The slats that span the frame to support the mattress come in two sets. They are thick, solid wood strung together at the ends with Velcro strapping. Pegs are built into the rails at the center for positioning the first slat, then you pull the bundle along to the end of the frame and drop it into place where it locks into the other side of the Velcro strips attached to the rails. Once set in place the slats are perfectly spaced apart and you never have to worry about them sliding around under the mattress. Two slats, one near the headboard and one near the foot, have sticky tape on them to prevent the mattress from slipping. They might work on their own, but I centered a 4x6 rubberized non-slip mat over the slat area and pressed it into the sticky tape for maximum assurance the mattress would stay put.
I was more than reluctant to buy something like this sight unseen off a website that often ships out a lot of cheesy products (sorry , but you know its true). In the end, I am thrilled with this bed frame. It exceeded all of my expectations and it looks absolutely beautiful.
Fabulous! Could not be more pleased.
