It is perfect, as advertised. The assembly could have gone a little better. There were two sets of fasteners that confused us but we saw our mistake before we got too far into the next step. A standard kids mattress would fit okay with no modifications, but the trundle didn't have enough clearance for our mattress to fit under the bed. We added another piece at the bottom of the head and footboards to raise the bed about 2-1/2". It was simple enough.
