The Black is flat and matte - the honey is Very orangey
The black is super flat and matte black. It’s not a stain. It’s more like spray painted on. You can’t see any texture or wood grain, and it doesn’t look that good. A dark black stain that showed a little wood grain would have been nicer. Returned it and went for the honey. I don’t lobe the honey either but it will do. It’s not like in the images. It’s more orangey. This is for my boys room and orange stain wouldn’t have been my first choice, I wanted it more muted yellow brown like in the picture. But I couldn’t find any other bed that was as good for the price and the convertible bunk bed option so “honey” will do.
