When we decided to look into getting a bunk bed for the boys we were concerned with height of the bunk bed and the sturdiness of the bed due to the fact it is for 2 boys. When we received the bed it was easy to put together it took me just a little over an hour to put together. It is pretty sturdy as our oldest a 4 year old tested the top bunk right away climbing on it as soon as we put the mattress on it and he tried to jump on it which we had to explain to him is not allowed cause of the close height to the ceiling and it is a bunk bed. The side rails on this bed are much higher than many others we looked at and I have no concerns with whoever sleeps on the top bunk rolling off in his sleep. With the mattress we chose (Zinus 6inch) there is still about 4 to 5 inches before the top of the rail.
I would recommend this to someone with a need for 2 beds with not a lot of space. Our room is a small room a 10 foot by 11 foot space and we fit this bed with a baby crib and 2 dressers.
