My hubby is the type of person that carefully reads directions beforehand and did not deviate from them. It took him about two hours to assemble with no problems. The bed frame is sturdy, however I added a bunkie board (which I purchased from a local mattress store) that I placed on top of the wood slats for a little extra security. I personally like the lower profile of the headboard as the bed is right under a window. I bought this for a guest room and thanks to this purchase on and Homegoods I was able to complete the entire project in two days for under $1500 including mattress, paint, nightstands, rug, linens, pillows and miscellaneous decor. I have received so many compliments on the bed. Bottom line / for the price, you cannot go wrong!
