Fantastic for the price, minus a minor padding issue.
This is more like 4.5 stars. First, despite no Prime, the free shipping actually came a day earlier than the week they promised. Box was ragged, but each part was wrapped (equally ragged) and they were all clean and unbroken.
The instructions were clear and concise. Putting it together was simple until I got to the armrests. Those really sucked to get on because the padding hampered my ability to line up the screws. I also hate hex keys // all the attachments use them // but I understand why theyre popular. I heard my hands actually give a sigh of relief once I finished putting it together.
The chair is fairly low to the ground, which is nice for me. Another review said it was for short people. I agree (Im 53), as I actually feel large just sitting in it. I cant imagine my 62 friend sitting in it, and Ill kill him if he tries. I know hed break the damn thing.
Its comfortable, with one issue. That square part you see on the middle of the back in all the review pics? It feels empty. Theres not enough padding in there. Its almost like theres a hole there. Its not horrible, but the star (half/star) I knocked off is essentially because of that. It needs more padding there. All the other areas of the chair and ottoman are well/padded.
Otherwise, everything else is peachy. The chair reclines fine. Theres a rotating knob you turn to hold it in place once you get the inclination you desire. I feel itll wear down after some good use, but time will tell. The chairs swivel is stiff. Im not sure if thats on purpose. Id like it to be loose and spin around like a kid would. Ill try some household oil or something.
Minus the weird lack of padding in the middle/back, its still quite comfortable and perfect for viewing my large TV, like its a theater or something. It looks simple and modern, which is my preference. Im definitely gonna spend some long nights playing games and watching movies. I hope this stands the test of time. You get what you pay for, but the price is so low that its hard to complain about it.
