It arrived in perfect condition..The ratchet tool you need to easily tighten the 8 or so bolts required to assemble the entire unit is included. It took me about 30 minutes to put it together. I had already assembled the queen unit from in the guest room. I am surprised how sturdy and attractive this headboard/platform is
