The bed was fairly easy to assemble. It was difficult to figure out which way the headboard should go; and there was a missing piece for the middle piece of the headboard. Its sturdy, but does make some creaking noises. I plan to use some tape or wax to reduce that. For the money, this is a darn good bed for my teen son who is still growing what feels like a foot a year. I needed an interim bed that was longer than a twin, but narrower than a queen or king, and this works pretty well for him.
