I love to have a king size guest bed which doesn't take the space of a king size bed when not in use. It's a regular twin day bed at normal times. After having read other reviews I opted to order two 5" mattresses where you can put one in drawer underneath or both on top of bed when not in king size use. It was easy to put together, step by step, Ikea like. Most day beds with trundle have the trundle in a lower position, like two twin beds side by side, one being lower. I like to have a real king bed to offer for a couple visiting.
Of course, this is not made to jump on when opened up. But the construction is sturdy and it looks modern.
I love this trundle bed! The quality is better than I expected. The painted finish is lovely (mine is navy blue). The instructions are easy to follow.
I am a 68 year old woman with some DIY experience. My challenge was to assemble this trundle bed with minimal assistance from my husband. And I did it! All of the components are of good quality and it was mostly fun to build. I did need another pair of hands while assembling the headboard. After that I was on my own and having a grand time!
Don't hesitate to order and assemble this "" trundle bed. Don't let the pictures fool you. This is way more than a kid's bed!

I love this bed. It was a great price for my sons first bug boy bed and his older brother loves vis trundle for "slumber parties". We purchased a bed locally for double the price and they are identical. This bed was well worth it!
I love this bed. It took me about 4 hours. From unboxing. To putting the mattress and bedding on. It was not bad to understand instructions. It is sturdy. I only used a hand screwdriver. I'm like 108 lbs. I put the foot board together wrong. Had to re do that part. But was easy to do
I love this bed!!! It is so so practical and really nice looking … it rolls out very easy and I found some 5 inch gell memory foam mattresses that work really nice for it. I’m so pleased about it. Putting together the first and second layer to fit in right took a little time because we were unclear of how to do it but once we figure it out it was perfect for our needs …..

Need two people to assemble
I love this twin Captains bed. Not hard to put together although there are many parts and it takes a while. But it's all solid wood that's beautiful.
