Years ago I bought an MDF, glass door pantry. Only recently weve been drinking distilled bottled water and then one of the bottles sprang a leak, the bottom of it got wet and the pantry began to sag. These gallon bottles were in the hallway and would fall over, get a little beat up and sometimes squished unbeknownst to us, etc. Fortunately, I got about 15 years of use out of the pantry but it was small (2/3s / 1/2 the size of the new one) and I could never really put bulk items in it. I was hesitant to put a storage cabinet in our hallway. Not much for the industrial look and not much room to put it in, but this had the best of what I wanted. Firstly, I was impressed by how much weight each shelf could hold / 200lbs. (My advantage tho is that my husband is a furniture installer for a living, so it took him initially about 1 1/2 hours to build. He recommends to ALWAYS read the directions (lol!) and set out all the parts first and account for every last one of them BEFORE putting them together!) Then I had to look at size / it was no bigger depth/wise than my other pantry! We dont have a lot of pass through space, living in a small apt, and the 15.75 depth was the same depth as the old one / perfect! The best part about that (for an apt dweller) is that it went wider (under 32 and HIGHER which usually the only other place to gain space / almost 71 inches. AND I gained the top of the unit as well so it could really be considered a 6th shelf. I love the white body with the silver doors / looks modern but nice! It keeps ALL of my distilled waters / we get 8 gallons and put them on the bottom shelf. It also accommodates two bulk items of 12ct TP and 6ct lg paper towels, plus a large paper totebag of paper/tote bags on the shelf above that. LOTS of canned goods, baking supplies, at least 20 cans of tuna, large protein containers, several boxes of protein bars, on the next two shelves up. On the top shelf we put our large 20oz+ thermoses, large lunchpails, tealights/holders/warmers, lightsbulbs, with plenty of room to spare. I was SO HAPPY with how much this held / no more tripping over stuff in the hallway! After living with it for a while, I was thrilled and so was my family. We keep the doors shut and can keep our hallway neat and clean and not be embarrassed when we have guests. So I bought 2 more for the storage of my new business shipping supplies and inventory (which is at another location). Im glad I took the time to get EXACTLY what we needed. Its so nice when you get what you pay for! Theyre awesome. Is that recommendation enough?
the cabinet was damaged from being dropped on the corner, botheend pieces were dented up, some paint was missing on the shelves. rubbed off, parts were not numbered or lettered, very limited wording in the instructions, I would be leery of buying another one, HINT !! the H on part number g is actually tabs that have to be bent out for installation on the top of the cabinet, the inst. made no mention of this very important step
Wow sure it cost more, but the quality is what you pay for. I can see this lasting a very long time and its not over built and heavy.
Easy to assemble, there werent 10 different sizes of fasteners I had to keep track of.
Only thing that that needs improvement would be the way the doors secure. Right now you have to use a key, but a spring loaded bar or even a lift up handle would be better than the key to keep the doors closed would be preferred, but the key does lock it.
This may not be cheap, but its a great value. Assembly is easy and instructions are clear. Took less than an hour to put together with only one person.
I believe it may have about the best shipping protection Ive ever seen: Top and bottom caps and side protectors made of decent gage sheet plus front and back protection with very dense non/corregated cardboard (will definitely save and repurpose all of these) all of this inside standard corregated cardboard box.
The only negative I have is that the door requires a key to keep closed. A magnet would have been nice, but frankly I cam probably add that.
It was well packed, evenso, there was a dent in one of the panels. It isnt going to show so its not a big deal. This was a bear to put together. It took me 2 days working off and on. Seems it could be easier with better instructions. Some of the assembly was hard to do for one person. It is heavy and sturdy. It will work great for storage.

4 insert shelves which holds 200lbs per shelf! (rather than 3 like others)
