It was easy to assemble, the fit and finish was fine, and the raised top works like a champ. My only complaint was the pads on the bottom of the legs were stuck on with adhesive. The first time I moved the finished table across the rug, the pads pealed off. It works fine without the pads.
(Bought in black)
The lift top is fairly sturdy, and has a locking mechanism I assume for safety reasons. You get what you pay for, though. I have coated it with polycrylic to keep it from scratching or getting water stains. A bit of work, but it will definitely make the cheaper table last longer.
Since my husband passed away, I have had difficulty eating my meals at the table. This wonderful coffee table solved the problem! Its well made and not too large, and really has plenty of storage. I added a couple of rattan baskets to the base, and I couldnt be happier. Thanks !!
Bottom trim had a piece brake out when wooden dowel did NOT go alway into the hole. One leg had a hairline crack. I glued/patched the hole and leg. Got a partial refund. I like the storage space. Top easy to lift and put down. Looks good. Took me 1 HR and 20 minutes to assemble on my own(disabled senior woman).
The table came in as the color I ordered, compared to some of the other reviews I read prior to purchase. Putting the table together was fairly simple.
The only issues I have with the table are all about the lift top.
1. During assembly, the inside bolts are very difficult to reach and you can only do a very small partial turn with the Allen wrench to tighten the bolts. Being a larger person 6+ this was a very aggravating assemble of only this portion.
2. When closing the lift top the release on the insides also difficult to access if you have large hands.
This is why I gave the unit 4 stars instead of 5.
My box was marked black and my table was more a dark espresso color, but no bigs cuz my couch is espresso so it matches. Its a little shorter than expected but again no bigs I live in an apartment so actually opened up a little space. So I like the color and it has what my last table didnt and that is fasteners. Fasteners holds this table nicely and I do like the table everyone says oh it took 20 minutes to build and that has to be false. Took two of us 90 minutes. The hardware packaging is poor. Aside from from a ding on the table top (a very small but very noticeable) I had stickers from my last table to cover screw holes so just put sticker on it and problem solved. Oh, then there is that pesky four corners bolting. Who ever thought of this should be fired. This corner bolting is absolutely over the top aggrevating. I suggest half inch large head screws thats what I used on the last hole , job done. I would honestly rate the table at 3.5 only because of dings and assembly. Other than that table is sturdy and plenty of storage space and is attractive. So again 3.5
The design is almost perfect, except trying to secure the top to the body. You need to be a contortionist or have very tiny hands. Once we got it assembled it looked great and was very solidly built. My only other (minor) design issue is where to top lock/release is located. It is under the top on the inside forcing you to blindly reach you hand right next to the lift mechanism. I am always afraid I am going to pinch my fingers.

Small, but functional

Love the table, but had a small scratch
I love the convenience of this table. Makes eating dinner on the couch so much easier. However my table can with a small scratch on the top
Good lift top coffee table

Poor finish.
This is a great table. But the finish on it was very poorly done.
Only gets a three point five
