    So glad we got this!

Easy to assemble, moves right along with no problem. My dog loves to run beside me! Easy to disassemble and transport in our van!

Made in Vietnam. If you dont care, get one.

Ive had this scooter for 5 days and can say except for a couple things its worth the money. The remarks concerning the locked tiller are right on. There is NO information about turning the lock knob before you use it. I read about the 15 ft. turning circle and realized that a year after that review they STILL havent included the info. Its made in Vietnam. Yes its been 45 yrs but Im not really over it. Number one complaint is the HARD rubber tires. The tires described as flat free are just that. Hard plastic wont get a flat. Im doing some serious research along with my friendly local store owner(ARIZE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT REPAIR) here in Vegas to locate a rubber or semi/pneumatic tire that will fit. Even if its just the rear tire it would be a huge improvement! Ill get back to this review if I find any softer tires. So its a 4 star instead of 5. A couple very small changes by and it would easily be a 5.

    It easy to ride

It is more than I expected. It easy to ride, comfortable and easy to put together. I am not good with understanding miles with the life time of the battery but what i am going to do next is check the mileage or distant with my GPS and learn from there. So far my husband and I love it!!!!!

    Great product for the price!!!

i use this scooter nearly every day. It works great for taking the dogs for a walk or just spending time with the wife outside. This is build solid and Ive yet to run the battery down. It handles well in my grass wich is a Bermuda sod. It even climbs up a really steep part of my yard with no problems. Ive taken this to Lowes and it is very portable. Id buy this scooter again without question. The only beef I have is the clearance underneath. It rides low to the ground so if you have a door leading out side that drops about a brick size; youll want to get off and push it over the step.

Rub Goldberg solution to mounting the seat post on their Scout scooter

I purchased a Spitfire Scout for my wife because of its portability and the 95 approval rating I saw on the website at the time I purchased it. Before I speak about the problems I had with the assemble of the scooter let me say my wife just returned from a trip to AC with our daughter and she said with exception of having a larger turning radius then her Pride Revo scooter she was very happy with it performance. My daughter was able to load the Scout scooter fully assembled into her Town and Country van by simple placing the front wheel lock in the lock position, then placing the freewheel lever in the neutral position, and then lifting the front of the scooter onto the rear of the van. Then she picked up the rear of the scooter and rolled it into the van with the vans rear seats in the down position, she then put the freewheel level in the drive position which prevents the scooter from rolling around in the van while your driving. See pictures of Rub Goldberg design below Unfortunately it toke a week and a number of phone calls and emails to Technical Support to solve the assemble problems with the scooter. First let me say I have many years of experience assembling just about anything imaginable with out having to contact the technical support department of the company that manufactured the item I am assembling more then once. My first contact with technical support was on the day I received my scooter to report the battery lock was missing from the box containing the scooter. The technical support representative was very helpful and made arrangements for me to receive the missing battery lock the next day. At that point I commented to my wife about how quickly they responded to my problem. So when I ran into a problem with mounting the seat post to the base unit I was confident that a call to technical support would solve my problem. Well that was not what happened, the documentation that came with the scooter simple says Insert the seat post into the base of the scooter with the battery lock around the post. Secure tightly with the provided nut and bolt at the desired height. Sounds easy doesnt it, the picture provided shows the head of the bolt on the left side of the base when facing the front of the scooter, that is the only clue you are given as to how to secure the seat post to the base. Well I wont boor you with the details but the bottom line the post is to small for the base or the base is to large for the post so the designers came up with a Rub Goldberg solution to the problem. Unfortunately the technical support representative did not have a clue on how to solve my problem even after I sent him pictures and videos via email of the problem. The technical support rep did not have a scooter to look at to see what the problem was nor did he have any better documentation then I did to see what was causing the problem. Finally after almost a week later he was able to get a scooter out of the warehouse and inform me the picture in the manual was incorrect as how to install the bolt. I am sure you are saying, if the bolt doesnt go in one way simply turn it around. Unfortunately its not that easy to see what the problem is and if it was why didnt s trained technical support rep tell me to do to solve the problem. Well remember I told you about the seat post mounting mechanism being a Rub Goldberg solution to the problem of trying to put to small a post into too large base without it rattling. Oh thats right why didnt the assembly facility in Vietnam use the correct size post or base. I suspect they made thousands of units this way and had to come out with a cheap fix, fine then tell me how to use your Rub Goldberg fix, or a least let your technical support people know about the problem so if someone calls with the problem they can tell the customer what to do.

    Let me continue college!

As cliche as this is, this scooter gave me my life back. I am a college student who was recently diagnosed with a neuromuscular/autoimmune disease called myasthenia gravis. Before I was diagnosed I couldnt walk very far and getting around my small campus was impossible. The only thing that is a con is also a pro, it sits very low. This makes it very easy to get onto it, however it also makes it easy to run over things and damage it. I can also say that most of it fits into the large trunk of my car. The only thing that didnt fit was the seat. We just put that in the backseat of the car. The manual states that it should not be exposed to moisture, however this was the cheapest scooter I could afford and it served me well even through snow in the northeast US. There were days where I ran it through 8 inches of snow and yes it did work, but I do NOT recommend it. It still works too. The only thing special I did was to cover the controls with a towel when it was raining or snowing. I also go slow through puddles so as not to splash water into the electrical components. Again I do NOT recommend running it outside in wet conditions, but I had no choice. The basket was a nice size and easily held my notebooks and binder for each class.

Works well for us, a bit small

We have been using this for two months for my husband to get around the house and to his doctors appointments. All I can say is that it totally gave him freedom around the house that otherwise would have left him counting on me. He can walk the full distance in the house, but still uses it on bad days. It saves me (and him) from the wheelchair. The one adjustment I had to make was removing the front basket so that we could pull it up far enough for him to get out of the car and onto the cart. At six feet tall, he really doesnt enjoy using or for long distances, he feels a bit cramped, even with it on the tallest level. He also mentions that the seat is hard. Still, it is awesome for the price and will continue to serve us well until the insurance company approves his need for an electric wheelchair. Since it comes apart, it is actually easier for me to load into the car than the wheelchair. And Im a wimp.

Best thing we have ever bought!!

This scooter is super. We took it on a trip and my wife used it the whole time. If not for the scooter, she could not have gone all of the places that I walked. Like the Alamo as you have to park a long way and this scooter worked flawlessly and is just wonderful.

    Very easily broken

Not very durable. So far the basket clips have broken off and the plastic lever to keep the battery in place has also broken. I just got it, and I have to use bungee ties in order to hold the battery in place. Not a happy camper, but luckily its only a temporary chair. It runs good once the battery is secure.
