Great looking and durable bed. The metal slats have these little plastic tabs that hold them in place. These were tricky to get in place, but once completed...I was quite happy with the end result.
We bought this bed for our daughters to use. I was a little concerned about the quality - it is not an expensive item and it is metal. Usually those two conditions indicate weak materials and sloppy engineering. (One of our daughters picked out this bed.) I just came to visit them yesterday and am pleased to find that the bed is strong and well-built. The supports are larger than one might thing and the entire bed is quite sturdy.
The little gray snaps were a pain to put on originally, but the bed has held up well. The rungs of the ladder are more widely-spaced than usual, which may deter some young climbers (sadly not MY toddler). Four years later, weve disassembled the support for the bottom bunk, removed the front bar, and we are using it as loft storage over a desk for the little one.
Instructions were not clear, you have to be careful with putting the sides on with the correct way up or the ladder wont go one well. other than that my kids love it.
The bed looks great, is inexpensive, and is very solid. However, it takes a long time to build and the instructions are a little hard to follow at times. If you hate building things, look elsewhere.
Sturdy and easy to put together, we had it done in maybe half an hour. The clips were the only challenge but they were not really bad. Clever design I feel like it will last a long time. We put an 8 memory foam mattress on it and the support is perfectly sufficient it did not need any help.
Take your time assembling it. Your best bet is to make everything snug until its fully assembled (then tighten everything). The sucker is heavy but then again, that is why its very tough. We are using this in a small mobile home in our hunting ranch and I find it a little tall for an eight-foot high ceiling. But its good enough if youre only 5 7 in height (still got to be careful with the ceiling).

Got it for my grand daughter and she loves it! When it comes to game night she runs to her room and rolls out the desk for us to use. Too cute!
