Purchased this item to give our 13 yr old more space in his room. Bed was easy to assemble. Our son is 55 and does have toned to get to the desk but once seated is very comfortable. He doesnt have very high ceilings, so when on the bed he cant sit up straight.I agree with the other reviews, the ladder steps are shaped in a way they may be uncomfortable to climb for some. We also did the pool noodle trick as mentioned previously.
Lots of pieces but best directions. Definitely easier with two people but doable with one. Took about 2 hours to assemble. Super happy with the purchase
I was worried I wouldnt be able to assemble this bed since my husband is out of town. But with the help of my two teens we put it together In about 2 and a half hours. The material seems sturdy and the assemble was smooth. My only complaint is that it wobbles but I imagine thats because its basically sitting on stilts so thats why I only gave it 4 stars. I wish it wouldnt wobble the way it does when my daughter climbs on it . Otherwise Im happy with it.
Do not assemble by yourself. Took me 6 hours and three mess ups Definitely a two man job!!! It does wobble a little when climbing up but feels sturdy and safe. Fit perfectly in my room
I like this and it was a good buy when I got it, but when putting it together I made three mistakes, and had to take sections apart three times, as the instructions were not clear and did not remind me well of the specifics, mainly around which railing needed to be where for the top rail guard, and in what orientation.
It DID remind me about how the safety warning label was supposed to be oriented, but not about the guard rail placement/direction/orientation. Still, the kids love it, and it seems sturdy.
This is a lengthy review so please bare with me. This one is wood, and seems sturdier than a metal one would be. There are wooden slates that are connected by a strap thing. After all the slates are pulled into place they are then screwed down on the ends of the slats, there is also a metal rod that runs from one end to the other for extra support. The bed is sturdy for a bed being sold online. Of course the bed will move around and creak if you shake it hard enough thats with anything. Is it to the point Im concerned that it will fall apart? No not at all. Now the bed does state will hold 400 lbs... maybe, but a teeny tiny ladder will NOT! Common sense tells anyone that. Will the ladder hold kids absolutely, will it hold a 200+ person...nah wouldnt trust that. If you want build a beefy ladder and you should be fine. Theres plenty of room underneath the bed, the desk is a good size and the shelves hold quite a bit. There was a bump or two on the bed but thats from the shipping, not the manufacturer. They were not noticeable, and to me not a deal breaker. I would recommend this to anyone with kids whos rooms are a bit small.
Not very often I toss a 5 star on any product I buy but this is hands down a good purchase especially for the price. Sturdy, nice bench top table under. Only con I see is the ladder steps should be wider. Itll hurt adults climbing in barefoot but children wont have a problem. Overall a good deal
