    Doesnt have a full cover

Nice tent BUT theres a whole part of the tent that doesnt have a zip up cover so the only way you can cover it is by using the rain cover! Dumb. Returning now

    Great tent, great price

Really love this tent! So far weve only given it a trial run in our back yard, but I am really impressed by how easy it is to set up, and the design touches are great. For instance, theres a mesh inset in the screen room floor, presumably to allow any moisture to escape that might come in through the front screen. The raised doorway between the screened room and the main room, which a few reviewers have complained about, is intended to work in a similar way, by keeping any moisture out of the main sleeping area. Yes, you have to step over it, but I think its worth it to know the tent will stay dryer. There was a nice breeze coming through when we had it set up, so I feel confident the ventilation will be good. We decided to upgrade to this tent now that we are going to start camping with our toddler, both for the additional room, and to have a space for play and putting shoes, etc. We were not sure whether to get the 6 or 8 person tent, but Im glad we went with the 6. Its quite spacious, and we dont really notice the slightly lower overhead height. A bigger tent would probably feel like overkill for us. This one barely fit in our tiny back yard when we set it up! A number of reviewers complained about quality issues in construction, such as the use of covered sleeves for the tent poles, rather than using clips all the way across. I get this, but the tent seems well-made, and if youre just going to be doing basic car camping (like we are), it should serve your purposes well. You could get a really technical, over-engineered tent from another company, but youd pay several times as much with not much greater return. This tent is a great deal, and Im excited to use it.

I can pitch this tent by myself in about 30 minutes if but having a second pair of hands is nice. There are a few tricky bits I can ...

My first use of this tent was in the dune camping sites of Assateague National Park with my mother. Im a 36yr old woman and am 6ft tall. My mother is 5ft 10in tall. I can pitch this tent by myself in about 30 minutes if but having a second pair of hands is nice. There are a few tricky bits I can see being a hassle especially if you are on the shorter side. Getting the rain fly up and over for instance might be difficult without my added height. Overall I think the setup of this tent is pretty simple with one or two people. My mother and I handled it relatively well on a windy beach with sun beating down on us. The interior is very roomy. All 6ft of me is able to stand up straight in the very center (makes dressing so much easier). That being said, Im not sure we could fit 8 people in this tent as is advertised. Comfortably Id say 4 or 5 our size maybe if you dont mind being right up against each other. The bottom of the tent is made of a heavier tarp material and has nice high walls to keep water out. We were expecting wind and some rain on our trip so before hand we were sure to add a layer of weather protectant and seal all the seams. No matter what, I always add a layer of weather protectant to my tent every year I use it. When it rained the rain fly worked reasonably well and we were able to keep the interior windows partially unzipped as long as the wind didnt pick up too much. The porch area functions as a nice airlock where we would sit to clean off our feet before entering the main part of the tent. It worked well to keep some of the sand and dirt out but as a porch it wasnt really tall enough for us to sit in for any length of time. The rain fly does not extend out far enough to protect the porch which wasnt a big deal to us as we werent using it as a porch but the drain holes didnt work very well to let the water out that had collected from the rainstorm. We ended up with several puddles. Maybe it would be different if wed been on level ground instead of sand? Overall this had been a great tent and weve used if multiple times with no problems. Has been well worth the money so far.

    No complaints

I love this tent! Super roomy, but no so ridiculously large that it wouldnt fit comfortably in shared camping spaces. Setup was very easy. I like all the windows which allow the tent to vent a little when its hot outside and the inside begins to feel like an oven. The porch area is much cooler than the tent when its hot outside, and roomier than it looks the photos. Could probably fit 3 camping chairs comfortably. This tent got rained on and the only part that got wet was the porch, but not as much as I expected. I dont understand what other reviewers are saying about the back being open - my tent stayed perfectly dry in the rain. I would recommend this tent to everyone for any weather.

Decent tent, best in dry conditions

Used it once, very very rainy camping trip. Discovered a few pulled seams, Ill have to repair as return window was 30 days. We didnt go camping until after that date. The front part seemed like a good idea, but it just filled with water that we trekked thru to get in the main part. Once I fix the leaks it should be a good tent.

    Overall good

Overall a very good tent and easy to put up and take down. The only drawback is the front zipper on the screen room. It opens from the bottom. Would be easier if it started on the top.

The front end screened in porch was kind of cool until a heavy rain came and soaked it

The big open screen panel on the back side of the tent doesnt have enough protection from the fly. Cold air came up under the fly and through that screen. I had to cover that area with an extra tarp to stay warm. The front end screened in porch was kind of cool until a heavy rain came and soaked it. Again I had to get an extra tarp to put over it to keep things dry. Three corners on the bottom of the tent seemed sewn together poorly and I had small puddles of water in them after a heavy rain. I am considering returning this tent. I usually like products but now Im not so sure.

Great tent, sad it had a defect!

I bought this tent for a boy scout camping trip in the fall, but didnt end up using it until May, so I never opened it out of the original packaging until it was way too late to return. The mosquito mesh on the internal main door was completely unsewn on one side. This was easy enough to negate, we just didnt unzip the flap and kept that side closed. Ill attach pictures. I used this tent in May in southern Louisiana during termite swarms. It was hot, humid, and very important to keep bugs out. At night, I was able to open the side vents and front vent (just one bc the other had the above mentioned defect) and get a nice breeze going, with the rain flap covering the windows enough to keep my tent nice and private. That was the entire reason I chose this model of tent and it performed beautifully. When I bought this, I assumed I would have my husband helping me put it up, but so far its been just me. With the occasional help from someone to help stick the tension poles on the rods, it is super easy to put up. And really easy to take down. When we used this tent, it poured for a couple hours. We were able to sorta sit in chairs on the front poor of we sat sideways. But rain definitely comes in the front half of the porch and quickly floods. No water got in the tent though bc of the raised floor sides, which is the other main reason I bought this tent. The only thing that was bothersome besides the defective mesh on the front door flap was that after it rained, getting in and out of the porch area was a little gross bc the main zippers are of course all on the ground full of water and mud and crud from the rain. Overall I really recommend this tent. I bought it for my 3 person family bc being able to stand up in it and have room and not be sleeping on top of each other was important to me. Im only knocking a star off bc quality control should have caught that an entire mesh panel wasnt sewn correctly.
