The bed frame itself is sturdy which is why I gave it 2 stars, but everything else is a dislike. The frame is super heavy and very difficult to move if needed, the slats dont stay in place and sometimes fall in when my children get up on the bed, the drawers have never been flush to the bed frame no matter how much we try to adjust the frame. We have had this bed frame for less than a year and already getting rid of it.
Given that other beds this height with drawers underneath run more like $900, this price ($315 when I bought it) was a great price. However, there are things to be aware of before you drop $300.
1. This bed is heavy and large. Must be constructed in the room where it will be used. I suggest getting furniture sliders to put under each foot. Make sure they are the long, oval kind. Otherwise once you construct the bed, especially on carpet, you will NOT be able to move it, at least without breaking it. Im keeping mine on the sliders so I can move the bed out to clean out between the bed and the wall, change sheets, etc.
2. I am an excellent furniture assembler. It took me about six hours to put this beast together. There are many pieces, I did have kids who interrupted and I wasnt really in a hurry. Just make sure you have plenty of time.
3. It will take two people to get the last end of the bed on and in place. You first build the two long sides and one short side. Then you put in the slats. Then cap off the end with the last short piece. Its hard to get it all aligned and screwed in with just one person, especially if you are working in a tight space.
4. The instructions have you insert the JRN pieces early but then the holes are too large and they keep falling out so its not worth putting them in until you are ready to insert the screws. So wait to put them in until you need them or theyll get lost if youre not careful.
5. The two inner boards that the drawer glides are attached two are particle board. The top edge has the hole too close to the edge, only 1/4 or less between the hole and the edge. When you are tightening the screw into the JRN piece, the screw pulls it up through the particle board. I was being careful and still had this problem with one of the four holes. Then when I was trying to adjust/move the bed, a second one ripped through. However, these were both on the back side that was going to be against a wall. Given that the bed was almost finished, I had no desire to have to take the entire thing back apart and put it back together in a few days once replacement boards arrived. So I just finished making the bed and once it was completed, it seemed stable enough so I left it as is. I did however, try to push the wood back in/on and doused it in wood glue so hopefully it holds. I also bought some little L braces to use if I feel its needed.
6. Buy handles to put on this thing! You can pull them open by the bottom of the drawer but its not the easiest. Get handles, make a template and at least drill the holes for the handles before assembling the drawers. Attach handles after you assemble the drawers before putting them in the dresser.
7. This is not a piece that can easily be moved after it is assembled. We may move in 1.5 years but I doubt this bed will survive the move. But, I needed a higher bed so I can change my handicapped son without breaking my back and I needed the storage underneath. So this bed fits the bill. And if we end up not moving, then this bed will definitely be worth the money.
Happy Purchasing!
After helping my mail carrier carry these incredibly heavy boxes up a flight of stairs it was time to set up. The bed itself isnt particularly hard to put together took me about 2-3 hours to do it myself. The bed frame is sturdy and looks like itll last a good while but the lateral support boards were all varying in length. Some were just a few millimeters off, one was off by a full centimeter, this makes the bed droop since it cant be supported, after installing my own extended support bar, isnt going anywhere. I am still happy with this bed though.
The only reason I gave 4 not 5 stars was because of the time it took to put the hundreds of pieces together. If purchasing the bed I highly recommend paying the extra fee to have it put together it is definitely worth it Unless you dont mind spending an entire day putting all the pieces together! Other than that the bed looks great and functions as it should.
It looks great and its not hard to put together.
There is some adjustment needed to make everything sit flush.
Probably not something that would survive serveral moves, but it looks good and has held up well so far!
I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews. Im pleased with my purchase. Took some time to put together but everything fit perfectly. No damage during shipping, it was well packed. Drawers glide smoothly and while not extremely deep (top to bottom) they easily hold sheets, blankets, etc. Nit sure about the longevity of the frame but again, this was a low price compared to similar at and local furniture stores.

Good idea for a bed frame, but bad execution.

Loving It
Other than a small Nik it had in one of the boards, its a great platform bed. Im loving it.
Not bad for the price

Support boards are different in length (varying mm difference) but is a nice bed frame.

Youre stuck with it.
Eh drawers are always in even and stick out. Could not use the headboard I wanted to. Would not buy again.
