Just assembled this bed for my 5-year-old this weekend. Took me two and a half hours on my own (with about 3 minutes of help from my wife for the frame). Instructions were clear (especially if youre used to type wordless instructions) -- but I highly recommend a cordless drill with allen wrench bits to make it go faster. Just tighten at the end by hand so as not to split the wood. My son LOVES this bed, the slide is great (not too steep IMO), and Im thrilled about the 400-lb capacity so I can crawl up there to read him bedtime stories. This bed is sturdy, attractive feels like it will last -- overall a real winner!
A three year old boy is in love with this bed because he gets to climb up to sleep every night and slide down every morning. And, during the day, he has a place to play underneath the bed. The frame was easy to assemble and it is very solid, able to stand up to an active toddler. It is sleek, not bulky, and the color is rich. The gray would blend well with most decors. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a space saving bunk bed.
Its the right size and the kids like it. There were chunks of wood missing where the holes were drilled and also at the top of the slide. The instructions were pretty bad. The top safety rail was very wobbly. The rest of the bed seems very sturdy though. Id say it was worth at least 200 less than I paid.
Directions were easy to understand. Took about an hour to assemble with one other person. Quality materials. Only thing that should include is the hatchet hex wrench that comes in all Zinus products!
Easy to assemble. Really good material. Ford just perfect. I will place foam underneath the top bunk. Just because I dont want them bumping their heads. I love the ladder isnt an attachment you have to drill it in. So I dont have to worry about them playing with it. Will review again later to see how long this last. Im still waiting for their new mattresses.
My kids love it which is why I purchased it. It is very small kid friendly. I rated this a 4 star overall bc the instructions arent the best. Its just pictures. I didnt put this together but I was looking over it with my husband as he put it together and I was so confused. They should really consider updating the instructions. However, it wasnt impossible but couldve completed it faster if there were actual words instead of just pictures.
Weve had this bed for a little over a year now and still love it. We wanted a low loft bed and this has been perfect. We didnt put the front bottom rail in when we assembled it and we and just doubled up the slats on the top for extra support. Its sturdy enough for an adult to lay down up there and our son has plenty of space to play underneath.
