I really like the bed, but the smell of the particle board took forever to go away. The drawers stil have the smell and it has been two months!
As for sturdiness, it is doing well. We have some larger family members that have used it, and it has held up just fine.
Package was an open box but everything inside was in perfect condition, no lost items,
I thought looking at the reviews the bed was gonna b a pain in te butt to put together but was a piece of cake, took me an hour by myself, I think lots of people writing reviews that u need 2 or even 3, 4 people to assemble this must have no skills at all cuz this was all common sense, u dont even need to look much at the instructions, well this bed its perfect lets see if the weight limit can stand some good nights with the women, good buy A
I actually used this in my sons room and it looks great. The product arrived with a broken drawer so I had to wait to put it all together. I have been so impressed I am going to order another one for my other son!
I was under the impression that furniture that needed to be assembled, was generally of pretty cheap quality and we just needed this for use a few nights a year when we have guests, so I was willing to deal with that. However, as far as I can tell, this is all solid wood and appears to be of really nice quality. It looks like it would cost a lot more than it does. As for assembly, reading the reviews will prepare you for the worst, and then you will probably be pleasantly surprised. I was able to assemble it without any help in about 90 minutes. As long as you think through each move about 2 steps ahead and dont rush, it will go well.
We bought 2 of these for the second bedroom in our new summer cottage, rather than buy box springs for practically the same price (we had nearly/new mattresses and rickety bed frames that came with the place). Id say it was a wise choice. They are attractive and touch/up paint is even included, in the event of possible dings (inevitable, really, at some point). This is a thoughtful touch, that Ive not seen with much more expensive furniture. (Perhaps car manufacturers should consider doing this as well, that first little ding on a new carsigh well, anyway)
The bed is packed very compactly and, therefore, the box is very heavy. This is a good thing, because if it were lightweight, it would mean a flimsy bed, which this is not. We havent loaded up drawers or had anyone sleep in the beds, yet (hence the 4 stars vs 5), but I dont foresee any problems.
My husband (who does know his way around a toolbox) had no problem assembling these alone. It wasnt instantaneous, but it was simple enough that I heard not a cuss word out of him during assembly.
Bed looks great and is sturdy enough but for one minor issue. I read the reviews before I bought the bed and so I ordered some heavy duty drawer slides. After it showed up I could see that the slides that came with it did have a cheap look to them but in all honesty I think they would have been ok. The one problem we did have was that as soon as I got the bed made and put a matress on it, I sat right on the area that everyone talks about and went right through the thin base. I had some thin OSB board in the garage and replaced the base and then I just used some construction adhesive to add a small strip of wood along the edge where it lacks adequate support. The bottom line is that I would buy this again but I am disapointed in the company for not fixing this problem that just about every buyer seems to have with it. (I had no problems with the matching headboard and would encourage you to get this item too as it really comes together well.

Nice daybed
Set up was a little tricky. But the bed is sturdy. We have had it for a few months now and its still sturdy and makes no noises.
One of the drawer knobs wont tighten but that can be fixed easily.

Great bed if you have some basic carpentry skills to reinforce the flimsy deck.
