This bed was pretty easy to assemble, and is super cute and sturdy! We love the height and that it frees up floor space to give more room for playing underneath and my son isnt too high so tucking him in at night and making the bed is easy.
I am very pleased with the quality. It doesnt look cheap. Loved the clay color. My 7 year old loves his new bed with slide. Just that the curtain were only 2 pieces. I thought there would be 3 for front and 2 sides. But theres only for 1 side.
I was shocked to see how poor the quality is. I can find better woods in a dumpster. On their official website you cannot make negative reviews and thats why you see all the good comments.
It was easy enough for an adult to put together, though it took a couple of hours. It looks nice, and my daughter loves it.
But I would have preferred something a little more sturdy. It sways quite a bit when I lean on it with the slightest pressure. At over 200lbs, I would not feel at all comfortable climbing onto it even for a minute. But its fine for my 11yo.
The ladder steps are also big enough that the cats get up and down with little difficulty.
By their own description: Bed measurements are 81. 5 X 42. 5. A regular twin mattress length is 75. So there is a DEFINITE space at either the head or the foot of the mattress between the mattress and the bed. You can see the slat underneath! With space to the floor! The length of a Twin XL mattress is 80. This would be a better purchase, in my opinion, so there are no gaps. Other than that, very straightforward directions for assembly, all the parts were labeled correctly and present. no scratches or dings. Everything fits together nicely and it is not wobbly.
Bought two of these for our twins to make the most out of the space in their room and so they both wouldnt fight over who gets to sleep on top. They both love their beds and I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the market for one.
Great bed, very sturdy and was easy to put together. I am a 40 year old woman, and I put the bed together by myself. Probably took about two hours, and needed minimal tools.
I Purchased the bed for my daughters fifth birthday. It arrived at the house in three boxes, which I took each box upstairs separately. Laid all materials out, and followed the directions to assemble. A purchase of the bed with the slide because I thought that would be fun for her and that is the one that she wanted. However, she hardly uses the slide now after six months of having it. The good thing to know is that the slide can be removed and stored elsewhere so if your child doesnt want to use it anymore you can just remove it.
Probably one of the better quality beds thats made, as I went around to different furniture stores feeling the quality of the beds and this is definitely much better made.
Likes:
1/ Sturdy
2/ Heavy
3/ Arrived intact
4/ Easy to follow assembly instructions (took 6 hours by 1 person)
5/ Kid enjoys this bed
Dislikes:
1/ Smells like a combo of spray paint wood, but should dissipate after a few days.
2/ Staircase is NOT drawer, just 2 open slots as storage, so I find the description misleading.
3/ A few dents on the railing but unnoticeable.
Note: Mattress should be no more than 8 of height as stated, or else it can be dangerous for a young kid to roll out.
There is one piece of the bed that will not stay attached. The little piece on the back that stabilizes the rail. Also it could use about 2 more pieces for the mattress to not fall through. I purchased extra from Lowes. I just feel it couldve been about 50/75 less. However, my son loves his big boy bed!
Update: I wanted to love this bed, but now I think I might actually regret purchasing it. Including updated photos I just took while my daughter was sleeping, so the lighting is low in those two pics.
I wanted to make sure to give it time before reviewing and now that 4 months have passed the time has come. At first, I loved how sturdy it was. Took my partner and me 4 hours to assemble for our daughter. After assembled I realized that the slide came out farther than I expected, and thats when I considered returning it, but the unboxing is such a headache that itd be near impossible to get everything back in place the way it came. Not to mention the box with all pieces is HEAVY.
The main reasons I dont love this bed now are:
1) The slide is too fast and steep.
Most slides you see at parks or on playsets are either elevated above the ground at the end, so a child can have that space to use their feet to stop themselves. Or if theyre not elevated, then they have a lip that slides out parallel to the ground allowing your kid to have a smooth landing. But does this slide have those things? Nu/uh. Its a steep straight slide that digs RIGHT INTO THE GROUND. So basically when your kids slide down this super fast slide theyll seem like theyre about to crash and tumble headfirst. So as you can imagine, that made my big and tall four/year/old a little afraid to use it (and she LOVES slides). The way I slowed it down was by cleaning it with a household Kids N Pets cleaner, but then it was too slow. So I took a little baby oil on a paper towel and rubbed it onto the slide and now its just the right amount of fast.
2) Within 3 months the second rung on the ladder cracked.
Now, the bed says its rated up to 200 lbs, and the slide 97lbs, so I can only assume that the ladder has the same weight limit in between those ranges and should be able to accommodate my 311 kid at 57 lbs. . . but as I mentioned, it has a pressure crack that developed on the far right side of the rung. (I dont have a pic of the crack on hand, but I found one where you can see it in the pic of my daughter circled in red). Again, the design elements of this bed have room for improvement and the rung that developed the crack just so happens to be the one that *isnt* braced with screws.
3) If your room is small, you might really want to reconsider the slide option. As you can see in the pics it takes up a big part of the walkway, but unfortunately, because of the rooms layout with the doors, this is the only way the bed can go. In case youre wondering, her room is 11x11 and we thought the slide would not only be fun, but a great addition to help my daughter hurry to the restroom at night when she wakes up. But instead, again because shes scared of how fast it is, she uses the ladder to climb down, which can be tricky when youre sleepy, and so now shes actually said how she wishes she had stairs instead of a ladder / which I initially wanted to buy, but passed up because the stair sets were more expensive, even without the slide. Anyway, after the pressure crack developed we removed the ladder temporarily and rearranged her room using the Ikea Trofast storage system as stairs, and wouldnt you know my daughter was so happy with it.

Completely junk

Less sturdy than Id like.

Size is misleading

Surprising sturdy

Think twice. Not great for small spaces.
