This is a very good bed for young children. I have a four year old and seven year old and it holds them just fine. For the price I was a little skeptical but we've had it over a month and it works great. It looks really nice in their room. It took my husband about 2.5 hours to put it together so assembly was fairly easy. The only con I have with this bed is whenever my kids move around in the bed you can hear it. The bed makes a squeaking sound comparable to twenty bird. It literally sounds like there is a bird trapped in the house. But for under 150 bucks I still say it's worth it. Would definitely recommend.
Lots of assembly required. Terse directions. Exactly the number of screws, nuts, plastic connectors required. Not one extra.
Looks big in a kid-size bedroom. Futon is in shadow under bed. Would need secondary light source for reading/other. Top bed feels wobbly to kid unaccustomed to bunk bed.
Futon mattress not included. Order separately.
Seems to be decent design and product. Works as advertised.
This is not a great bunk bed but it is a good bunk bed and an inexpensive one. It is not indestructible but it is pretty sturdy. I would give it 5 stars if it was only compared with other beds that are <$200 but I am comparing it with all of the bunk beds I looked at or have owned. I bought this more than 6 months ago and my 5 YO grandson and 6 YO granddaughter have been using it since without any issues. They really like the bunk beds and have mastered the climb to the top bunk. Be careful where you put it. A bunk bed can give small children easy access to things normally out of reach, like ceiling fans and overhead lights, or the top shelf of a bookcase.
Things I like about this bed:
1. The price!
2. Built in ladders on ends of bed won't fall or slip off.
3. I can add an optional trundle beneath the lower bunk.
4. This bed accommodates a full box spring AND mattress on the lower. I did this for 2 reasons... it adds support to the bottom bunk and it reduces head space in the bottom bunk enough to discourage bouncing on the bed without any issues of bumping their heads if they sit up or kneel on the mattress..
5. It is sturdy. Small kids (~40 pounds each) use it but I have laid on the bottom bunk with them (~180 punds) several times to watch a movie with them.
6. Lots of metal bars (slats) to support the mattresses more evenly distributes the weight and minimizes the chance of bending one from too much force.
7. The top rails are pretty high. I use an 8 inch mattress up there and their is more than 4 inches of rail above the top of the mattress on all 4 sides so the kids won't accidentally roll off of the top bunk in their sleep.
Things I don't like about this bed:
1. Aesthetics are lacking. It is a grey metal bed. But I didn't buy it to be pretty and the kids don't care.
2. Setup wasn't simple but I did it on my own using the provided instructions in a couple of hours. Don't make the mistake of thinking that 2 parts that seem the same are the same. Pay close attention to the distinguishing characteristics (like which side a bolt hole is on) called out in the instructions when selecting the parts during assembly.
3. It cannot be setup as 2 separate beds. I knew this before I bought it.
Overall, I recommend this bed for younger children. I think it would work well for preteens as well. It was the least expensive bunk bed I found on but I am very happy with it. It is function at a very affordable price.
DISCLAIMER: While I am in no way way associated with either the seller or manufacturer, my grandkids gave me a marshmallow treat for writing this review.
Very reasonable price. We have had this bed for several months (for a 7 and 6 year old, both crazy boys). It is very good quality. We have had to tighten the upper side rail after it loosened a little.
We have had it for about two weeks and my girls love their new bunk bed. it is just as sturdy as any bunk bed can be, it wobbles a bit (if you push it of course). It took me and my girls about three hours to put up and it was not tedious but I recommend reading the instructions first and really taking a look at all the parts before you begin. I had to undo certain steps because I placed a part that had to be upright the other way; but overall we are very very pleased with the product.
My 13 and 9 year old girls love this and the extra space on the bottom is a real plus for my 13 year old. No squeaks and my 13 year old (who is 5'3) can sit up on the bottom bunk even with an 8 inch mattress.
Took a little longer than advertised to put together, but I did it by myself. Word to the wise, follow the instructions and don't tighten things too tight at first or you will not be able to get guard rails and other things on. You'll have to loose things up again and redo you work. And trust me your fingers will be tired from all the tightening. You don't need to add to it.
Only two cons I can tell thus far are:
1. Now that it is up, moving it to another room (or new house) might be a real pain or next to impossible the way it is put together. Be interested in other people's opinions on this.
2. It is super solid front to back. Less so side to side. So that when my youngest goes up the ladder it's impossible to not shake the bed a little. Not terrible or a deal breaker. But it is not as stiff as I would like (completely rigid) or as another wooden bunk bed we have had in the past.
I seriously think most people on here with complaints aren't very handy. Chances are they weren't good with the directions. Although It does take some time to put together its not as hard as people make it seem. I would say it took me at least 2 hours and that's just me working alone. But dam the bunk is awesome for the price!
Have two teenage boys who sleep on this and it works great. They put the bottom bed up for a couch during the day, making it very useful. Be careful if you have a ceiling fan as this bed fits just under my fan, but no room for the upper bunk child to sleep. Some of the hardware did not fit together and I wound up stripping several hex screw heads.
Otherwise it was pretty easy to put together, I would recommend having at least two people to put it together just because holding up the ends to attach the middle rails is difficult.

Sturdy Bed.
Nice sturdy bed, plan about 3-4 hours of setup time. 5-7 if you're drinking beer, ha.

Nice sturdy assembly.
Very easy to assemble. Just takes a little time. Sits in a corner and is used by four and seven year olds. No squeaks or wobbles.
Seems To Work
