This is an amazingly spacious tent. We bought the 8-man tent based on advice regarding room for a family of five, and it actually ended up being much bigger than we needed. Part of me wishes we got the 6-man tent instead, but its generally much better to have erred on the side of being too large rather than too small. The setup was quick and easy-- I generally dont like those auto pop-up fast-pitch tents (fast-pitch tents dont strike me as being durable; whereas, if you need to repair traditional tent poles, you can easily purchase a repair kit online). Besides, this tent only came with 4 poles (two for the main body, one for the vestibule, and one for the rainfly)... so no degree in rocket science required for successful assembly.
The vestibule is a really nice touch. Its nice having a protected area for shoes and other basics... and Id imagine the kids might want to set their sleeping bags up there to enjoy the view (and some separation).
As far as sturdiness goes, it does the job for us. We generally have been fair weather campers... and most (not all) of our trips are at the coastal campsite about a mile away from home.
Went camping for the first time as an adult with out BRAND NEW in the box 8 person tent. While setting it up, we couldnt figure out why it wasnt sitting right. We adjusted and readjusted the tent. We finally took it apart to realize one stick was short. We were camping and our main camping item was defective. We got it to work as best as possible, but I was embarrassed since I bought the tent to surprise the Husband. I am 54 and could not stand up straight inside the tent. One thing I will say is that the tent held up, that is why I gave it 3 stars. We loved the screened section and the size. So glad we camped with in the 30 days of purchase. We will be returning this tent and replacing it with a non defective tent
I dont write many reviews, but this tent was phenomenal. I set it up by myself in under 10 minutes without reading directions until I got to the fly part. the ventilation is perfect, the porch is perfect...we all slept like bears in this thing
We were pretty happy with the looks and easy set up of this tent. I had read plenty of reviews and was patting my own back after we set it up on top of a heavy duty tarp and laid out our stuff inside. Sadly, there was rain that night and plenty of water filtered through. Enough to dampen several of our things. If I could return this I would, unfortunately it is too late for that. I bought the 6 person version, If you are considering to purchase a tent that will withstand rain, stay away from this one.
Let me start off with, Ive always loved products. My husband and I have a 4 man tent that we have used over the past 8 plus years without any issues. Pouring rain, wind and snow, never a problem. We decided to upgrade to a larger tent and , of course, we were going to use a product. We bought this tent and, at first, loved it. The problem is, on the third time putting up the tent, we noticed that it was tearing at every stress point (each corner of the tent). One corner has actually torn through. We have called to try a resolve this issue, the lady on the phone didnt seem all too impressed and said theyd get back with us. Needless to say, we havent heard from them. Im not sure what has happened to products, but they dont seem to be the quality they once were, which is unfortunate. I will not be buying another.
The tent we bought was meant to be an 8 person tent, however it could only hold 4 people. It was able to hold 2 queen size beds and little room to walk in. The screen patio space doesnt have any rainfly coverage. It was completely wet and messy. If you have a small family this would work for you otherwise I do not recommend.
Amazing tent. I was able to set it up with my GF less than 15 mins first time. It handled heavy rain and strong gust without a problem. Really spacious and no leakage.

love the screen part so you can keep dirty shoes or extra bags, though water can get in if it pours so you may need a tarp.
