Our first umbrella collapsed three hours after being opened. The breeze was light and two other umbrellas were fine, so no real reason for collapsing. This company responded very well after I contacted them and sent information and pictures of the damaged umbrella. They then quickly sent a replacement that has held up better. Five stars for the company, Philly, but three stars for umbrella quality.
The patio umbrella was exactly what I was looking for. My only issues is the cloth with lose stitches around the center which will eventually come apart and the hole. I sent a message to the vendorwaiting for a reply. To be continued.
All in all not a bad umbrella! I like how easy it was to deploy as a passing shower invaded my back yard. That said, the Velcro sandbags were time consuming to pour the washed play sand into. I had to jury/rig a makeshift half/funnel to feed the sand into the bag and still had issue since the Velcro opening was narrower than it should have been. Had the opening been perhaps 4 inches wider, this operation would have been easier and quicker. The frame assembles easy enough, they designed it to minimize the shipping box, but when assembled, its footprint on the deck is deceivingly large. They give a black canvas cover to make the base look more professional/looking. I used 3 bags of play sand and suspect a 4th bag could have completely filled them.
I seriously doubt this umbrella would survive a heavy storm, so dont chance it. Just like at any resort/ deploy the umbrella in the morning [to enjoy a cup of coffee and read a book] or later in the evening [when you are smoking a cigar while drinking some premium Scotch/Bourbon while listening to Classical Jz music] then at the end of the evening, just wind it up. Otherwise, after that heavy storm, you will get a call from your neighbor to come pick up whats left of it out of THEIR back yard.
All in all, for the price point given and the area it covers, this is NOT a bad umbrella, but be prepared for light assembly of the base and be mindful that this IS a 15 x 9 foot umbrella and will require you to pay attention to the weather to ensure it survives for more than one seasonyou know/ be an adult and do what adults do: Care for what you bought and it will last a long while.

Absolutely Gorgeous!!
Works great!!! Covers a large area. Easy to assemble the base and open/close. Once sand is added its very durable and sturdy.
Very nice!
