We love our bed frame/headboard/footboard. It came well packaged, really easy to follow instructions, and now that it is put together we absolutely LOVE walking into our room and calling it ours! Would definitely buy again.
When I received my product everything was intact and wrapped well. However when I put my product together I noticed the wood is not great quality and actually cracked when putting one of the pieces together on the head board. I know I will need to secure the wood with wood glue of some sort when taking it apart to make it certain it does not break. That to me says cheap. Now I know I didnt pay a lot of money for it but I still expect quality when I purchase furniture; online or not.
Packaged to be shipped to the moon, lots of packaging to dispose of once you put it together, but not a strach or mark, so not complaining. It is very nice for the price we paid. It is going in a guest room with minimum use and looks great.
Very well made, assembled easy, looks great! It is a HEAVY piece of furniture, have some help handy if you need to carry it upstairs, our poor fed ex guy about bust a gut carrying up the stairs to the apartment, poor guy.
Its a platform bed for 109 (as of right now). And yes, its exactly the quality you would expect for a 109 bed. I expected low end Ikea quality but this is actually a small step down. It works and its cheap, but unless you are on a serious budget I would suggest spending a bit more The biggest problem is that the particle board planks which form the platform are screwed into particle board supports with tiny screws. These do NOT grip at all. I would strongly suggest lots of wood glue and some longer screws. Granted, gravity will do the job here, but Im a bit worried if you sit right on the edge the boards will pop right off. Secondly, listen to the other reviews and attach the edge rail pieces (at least on the left and right side) before putting the boards on. These are nearly impossible to securely fasten in the way the directions say. Id also recommend more wood glue and some clamps to hold the end rail on.
As it is, for the money, I have no worries itll hold up fine. At a glance it looks fine. It does the job. However if you have an Ikea nearby, even their lowest level beds are a decent step up in quality for not much more money.
The bed assembles in about an hour or two and the directions were easy enough. It is an attractive piece that looks exactly as it does in the photos, and is good quality for the price.
Here are the negatives, which are nit/picky:
The piece is not solid wood and its paint is somewhat thin and easy to scratch, so be careful when assembling. Try not to slide your box springs over the black finish because even that will scratch.
The headboard comes in two pieces and is bracketed together. I thought it would seem flimsy, but it goes together okay. There remains a slight gap between the two pieces on mine on one side, but its not that noticeable.
The cross boards that go under the box springs/mattress come with tiny support legs, which are useless and fall out if you move the bed even slightly once your mattress is in place. But this has not caused a problem so far.
Overall, I am satisfied and will likely purchase additional products from the Bedford family.
Bought this for a spare room that is not used a lot / thank goodness. It was a pain to put together and once you have it together, you better have it where you want it because it is a pain to move plus you get the sense that moving it might be disastrous. So this is not completely negative, I will say that I like that nothing can get under the bed (less hiding places for messes)and it does hold a mattress and has done so for a year (note: I have not moved it).
Last year I bought a s platform bed in a twin size. First of all it was a royal pain in the behind to put together. My friend Teris boyfriend had to do it he didnt seem too happy about that. Also I noticed that the screws kept coming loose making the whole platform loose. I think it would be a lot better if it was just 1 solid piece of wood rather than several sections. However I LUV the white finish. A word to the wise is unless you want to have to have a screwdriver nearby to tighten the screws a couple times a week dont waste your money.
