Got this platform last Wednesday and the packaging had been torn open due to the outside cardboard box being too light to handle the weight of the wood inside. Both ends of the box were taped up with some of the boards sticking out of the box. After constructing the bed I found 4 screws missing. Not a big deal and was able to find substitute screws. I was at first disappointed seeing the box all ripped open and just barely together with tape at both ends, but the bed went together easily with studying the directions and taking my time. I did it all by myself in about 2 hours with a Phillips/head screw driver. I would suspect that I am not the only one that will receive this platform with the box ripped open. The box appears too flimsy to contain the wood that I guess weighs about 50 to 75 pounds if not more. Just a warning for anyone who buys this to be aware of I would have given this 5 stars if the packaging was better and thicker to contain and protect what is inside.

when the bed arrived, the box looked fine, but once i opened it up, i found that there were a lot of scuff marks on the bed already in addition to some ends that somehow didnt get painted it seemed. i thought it would be too annoying to try to send back, so i kept it its functional but just doesnt look that great. also, not the easiest to assemble. even though it was cheap, i think you can get better for the price.
Quality is really good, but design is very, very, very stupid! I assembled all the parts in the middle of my bedroom and hoped to move it to the corner, but later I found that based on their design, only its assembled, it just sat where it was! Too stupid! Now I can just sleep in the middle of my bedroom!
Besides, no screw holes in the perimeter bars, which make it very hard to assemble the final three bars.
Stupid design!
It was a little tough to assemble, just needed some good old fashioned elbow grease!! Overall it looks great and very stylish. I use the frame in my 2nd bedroom, and have already had guests utilize the bed. I asked them how sleeping on it was, and they had no complaints!!
This platform bed is a great solution for me because I live in an apartment where furniture is very difficult to get into my space. This came in a very heavy box by UPS but I was able to open it and take the pieces into my space individually.
The bed was fairly easy to assemble except for the last two rail pieces which was made difficult by my handicap with construction work. I did manage to assemble it. It is very sturdy and is exactly as described.
The platform bed is work the money / I think it was just over 100 dollars. I also bought a memory foam matress from .com for the same moving reasons and it is working well for me.
Ive been wanting to have a platform bed instead of the headboard. I found the full platform bed on .com and so decided to purchase it. It was a big package. At first it looks like a daunting job of assembling the plaform: how am I gonna assemble this platform by myself, I asked. Thank god the assembling instructions were clear and the pieces were labelled nicely according to the instructions, thus making the assembling work much easier. The only difficult part is carrying/lifting the pieces of heavy woods. Although I managed to assemble the platform by myself within an hr, I still suggest having two persons becasue the woods are big and heavy (considering the size of the plaform). I got a couple of cuts while lifting the pieces together. After the hard work, the platform was assembled nicely; it looks great and fits well with my full sized mattress. I was proud of my work and definitely very pleased with the platform. It was worth buying the platform.
This is a great bed, and was easy to put together, took about an hour with 2 people. All the pieces were there, and nothing broken. We did use carpenters glue in the screw holes to improve durability, and it seems pretty sturdy.
Edit after 8 YEARS and three moves to update that I am still using this bed, and very happy with how it is holding up! The last 5 years have been with both my husband and myself sleeping on it.
I managed to get this set up in little over an hour working alone. Would sure be easier with two people. The instructions are pretty well detailed and easy to follow. The finished product looks great and is perfect for a memory foam or foam mattress requiring a flat surface (no slats). Extremely cheap bed for the price considering that you dont have to invest in a bed skirt and a bed frame separately. Extremely heavy so you wont want to pick this up alone. Bit difficult even with two people if you need to heave it up and down stairs. I live in a third floor apartment so we found it easier to just unpack it downstairs and carry the pieces up.

Quality is really good, but design is very, very, very stupid!
